Google Projects

2024-2026

Google

For the past two years, Dennis Samatulski and I have been on quite a run with Google. What kicked off as a single project for Passkeys has snowballed into a deep, trusted creative partnership. We’ve had the chance to touch everything from Advanced Protection and Personal Intelligence to Photos and Profile, and we’ve even put our stamp on some of Google’s social media branding.

The work is constant, fast-paced, and honestly a blast. Whether we’re illustrating a new concept or animating a complex brief, we’re always focused on moving the needle.

The metrics back it up, too: we’ve seen a significant jump in engagement compared to the pre-partnership days. It’s been incredibly rewarding to help introduce the world to new tools while showing long-time users how to supercharge their workflow with Gemini and Nano Banana.

We’re loving the impact we’re making across the halls of Google, and we’re ready to sink our teeth into the next big challenge. Here’s to expanding the portfolio even further.

Profile Styles

With the Nano Banana model, Google is turning standard profile photos into something much more inspired—think anime, pencil sketches, or oil paintings. By simply uploading a selfie and playing with the in-app tools, users can choose their own vibe. It’s never been easier to decide if you want to look like the Mona Lisa or a Lisa Simpson.

Personal Intelligence in Gemini

Why settle for web-wide trends when your AI can be personal? With Personal Intelligence in Gemini, users can sync their favorite Google apps with Gemini for a 1-of-1 experience. Whether it’s surfacing a forgotten hotel booking, a specific photo, or a YouTube recommendation that actually fits your vibe, Gemini uses your data to stay one step ahead. It’s a tailored assistant that actually knows its stuff.

In the early days of development, our storyboards were centered around a specific hero character. But as the project evolved, we pivoted toward a more universal approach, moving away from a strictly “outdoorsy” narrative to something that felt more inclusive. I still have a soft spot for that original hero journey, though—hopefully, we can find the perfect home to weave that story into a future project.

Passkeys: Enrollment

When it came to enrollment, we wanted the energy to stay swift and punchy. We leaned into a simplified demo that tracks the user journey from creation to login, landing right on the account page. By stripping away the noise, we were able to show exactly how seamless the passkey transition really is.

Passkeys: Sizzle

We kept the sizzle’s message direct, but dialed up the flavor in the execution. By layering in stylized graphics and a charming character beat at the finish, we turned a straightforward demo into something memorable. It’s all about those small, intentional details that make the product feel more human.

Passkeys: The Overview

With Google Passkeys, signing in is as simple as a face scan, a fingerprint, or a PIN. It’s a phishing-resistant setup that’s stored right in your Google Password Manager for a seamless blend of safety and ease. We wanted the animation to feel just as cutting-edge as the product, so we went big—using a space shuttle launch and a mission control aesthetic to show off how Passkeys are launching users into the future of security.

Passkeys: Sign in

The goal for the sign-in brief was all about simplicity. We wanted to show how biometrics effectively retire the old-school password struggle. One quick face scan and you’re in—no memorization required. It’s fast, it’s secure, and it puts your content just a glance away.

Advanced Protection

Turning on Advanced Protection gives you Google’s heaviest armor against online attacks, sketchy apps, and data risks. To make the technical side feel more approachable, we created a charming yet informative animation that breaks down how APP fends off phishing, malware, and fraudulent access. It’s high-level security explained with a human touch.

Advanced Protection Product Demo

Beyond the bite-sized content, we built a long-form demo to guide users through the APP enrollment process from start to finish. This clip is just a highlight from the full video, showcasing how we balance “charming and quick” with the clear, step-by-step guidance needed for a feature this important.

World Password Day: Sign in

Why should the magic of Google Passkeys stop at your Google Account? By linking up with partner sites and apps, you can bring that same effortless energy to the rest of your digital world. It’s all about taking that "Google-easy" sign-in and making it the new standard for every service you love.

World Password Day

It’s time to leave behind the clutter of forgotten passwords, endless resets, and those “select all squares with a traffic light” captchas. For World Password Day, we wanted to celebrate a better way. With Passkeys, signing in becomes a moment of total zen—turning a clunky old chore into something as effortless as a quick face scan.

Spot Illustrations

Beyond the animation, we also jumped in to craft a library of illustrations for the Google Blog, along with custom header images and icons for several of Google’s social media channels. These visuals distill complex safety features into relatable lifestyle vignettes and conceptual renderings—perfect for supporting a deep-dive article or acting as a hero banner that reflects the protection and care baked into every Google product.
