Vice: The Verdict

2025

Remade

Riding the wave of The Verdict’s debut season, Vice returned to pit a new set of icons against one another. This time, the stakes were even higher: we weren't just comparing Brady and Belichick; we were comparing baseball legends. We’re talking Babe Ruth vs. Shohei Ohtani and a “Dual-Sport King” showdown between Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders.

We went full “Greek Mythology” for the visual DNA. For the Ohtani/Babe rivalry, I designed a literal ascent up Mount Olympus. The journey starts with the busts of Shaq, Troy Aikman, and Mia Hamm, but as we climb, the statues grow in scale and detail. We eventually break through the clouds into the pantheon of the gods—MJ, Ali, and Tiger—reaching the peak where the Great Bambino himself resides.

For Bo vs. Deion, I wanted to lean into Bo’s superhuman status. I decked his batting glove with the Infinity Stones (because he really is that powerful) and reimagined him as Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. The climax saw Bo ascending into Zeus himself, clutching lightning bolts as the literal God of Sport. While this specific episode was left on the cutting room floor before animation, the concept art remains some of my most ambitious work to date.
